Heading into August, Melbourne has yet again retained a weekend auction clearance rate above 70 per cent.

But what does this mean for Australian’s wanting to buy or sell property in the final quarter of 2019?

Will we start to see some life in the market? Or is the lack of available stock skewing the figures?

To answer all of these questions and more, The Hopkins Group is excited to welcome Gil King, CEO of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV), to present his September property market update.

Gil joined the REIV as CEO in early 2017, and has a wealth of experience in property from his time as Executive Director of the Housing Industry Association and other positions spanning over 20 years.

Next month he will be sharing his latest market outlook for the city of Melbourne, using data compiled by the REIV to illustrate how different suburbs have performed in recent months vs this time last year.

Gil will also discuss the value of holding an investment property when vacancy rates are low – a reality many suburbs are currently experiencing.
