The Hopkins Group (THG) is a boutique financial services and property advisory firm located in Melbourne CBD. In business for over 35 years, our company prides itself on being able to offer our clients a complete financial services facility and solution through the experience and expertise of our advisers and associates. We have seven businesses within our diverse organisation, which are: Financial Planning, Finance & Mortgages, Tax & Accounting, Property Advisory, Property Sales, Property Management and Intermediary.

Overview

The Senior Financial Adviser (SFA) plays an important role representing the Financial Planning department of our dynamic group and contributing to its success.

The main activity of the SFA is to provide expert and appropriate advice to THG clients for investment, superannuation and wealth protection and creation.

At all times the SFA is to work within the boundaries of his/her Employment Agreement, FPA Code of Ethics and Rules of Professional Conduct, our Australian Financial Service Licence Holder (Wealthsure Pty Ltd) and all policies and procedures of THG.

Reporting Relationship

The SFA reports directly to the Managing Director and the Strategic Manager.

Specefic Accountabilities & Responsibilities

The SFA is accountable for the following:

  • Professionally prospect and self-generate leads.
  • Ensure all THG generated leads are followed up professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Completely understand all your clients’ individual circumstances, to ensure the advice you are providing is appropriate to their unique situation, and the client fully understands your recommendations.
  • Handle all client appointments with professionalism, competency and accuracy.
  • Complete all required paperwork at times stipulated by THG or compliance expectations, including (but not limited to) completely and correctly completing a client fact find, risk profile, fee proposal and any other relevant information required.
  • Provide advice and be knowledgeable in superannuation, Investments (cash, equities, property) and wealth protection.
  • Track and maintain up-to-date records/files of past enquiries, prospects and clients, in accordance with THG policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to and follow THG procedure in regard to pre-settlement process with off-the-plan property purchases your client may be involved in.
  • Nurture and manage any referral partners you are designated or associated with you, in accordance with the Business Development Manager and our Intermediary standards.
  • Refer clients and business to THG staff members in other departments, where it is appropriate for the client to do so.
  • We would expect client complaints wouldn’t exist, however should any complaints be made against you, these should be handled with professionalism, courtesy and in a timely manner, with any such communication being reported to the MD.
  • Meet agreed monthly KPI’s and targets.
  • Keep up-to-date and knowledgeable of current finance sources, techniques, products, legislation, qualifications and courses required by THG and the industry.
  • Adhere to THG standards, including (but not limited to) working appropriate and agreed business hours, adhering to dress standards, keeping car clean and tidy and maintaining a clear work area.
  • Be an active (and punctual) member and contributor to team meetings and firm wide activity, including events which may be outside of normal working times.
  • Ensure any audit requests from Wealthsure are attended to in a timely manner.

A sound knowledge to the THG philosophies, goals and objectives must be fully comprehended and adhered to when giving advice to clients. Ongoing training in this respect will be arranged for the SFA.
