Program Overview

Driving Lasting Changes Through Financial Literacy Empowerment

Our program empowers schools, businesses, and investors to make a meaningful impact through financial literacy.

We do so by offering primary schools, highschools engaging workshops, classroom coaching, and both digital and physical learning materials to enrich and empower students and their financial literacy.

We provide a solution that drives lasting change – all with maximum value and minimal investment. Whether you're equipping students for the future, or creating programs that inspire, or workshops that increase financial literacy - our program can help.

How Our Program Reflects Our Corporate Mission and Commitment

Demonstrating our commitment to empowering our community through financial literacy, our program directly reflects our corporate mission by providing individuals with the tools and knowledge they need to make informed financial decisions.

We believe that financial empowerment is a critical step towards personal independence and community well-being.

Through our program, we aim to help community gain control of their financial future by equipping them with the skills to manage their finances effectively, understand budgeting, and navigate their financial journeys with confidence.

“Thanks to THG’s CSR program, our students have gained crucial financial literacy skills, particularly in budgeting and saving. The interactive materials, like crossword puzzles and budgeting tools, made learning these concepts enjoyable and accessible. The students are now empowered to take control of their financial future.”

2023: Year 6 Shark Tank Learning Exercise with Greythorn Primary School

Working alongside the school's 'Shark Tank' learning exercise with their year 6 students as part of their business and financial literacy program, we worked with their students across the learning exercise.

In this exercise, students were tasked with creating, planning, and establishing a small business idea in 12 weeks. They will then execute their business at the end of the year for years 1 - 5 at their 'Shark Tank Business Day'.

Our Managing Director, Michael Williams and Senior Financial Advisor, David Romanovski, ran workshops and participated in the 'Shark Tank' pitch to provide insights, ideas and knowledge to maximise their business's feasibility and profitability. Additionally, our Group Marketing Manager, Devon SL Nicholl, ran workshops to provide their marketing and advertising tools and knowledge to maximise their communication and their stall's brand awareness and exposure.

Other Community Engagement & Empowerment Programs

The Horse & Human Foundation

Founded in 2022 by John Hopkins, also the Founder & Executive Chairman of The Hopkins Group, The Horse & Human (H&H) Foundation provides sanctuaries for retired racehorses, retraining, repurposing, and rehoming them for new careers.

The foundation also offers safe and welcoming spaces and programs for people, set amidst the beauty and tranquillity of the Australian bush, incorporating interactions with horses and other animals.

The Hopkins Group partners with important organisations in Australia to fulfil its objectives and provide a breadth of support, programs, and services. For example, the Howqua-Valley' Recover & Heal' program, in partnership with Deakin University, offers accommodation, day visits, employment, and volunteer opportunities in a stunning Australian bush setting.

Critically, H&H fosters a sense of community, inviting individuals to immerse themselves in programs designed to nourish and rejuvenate both mind and body. H&H's overarching goal is to enrich the lives of both horses and humans.

The foundation aims to expand its programs across Australia, supporting personal transformation by creating purpose and involvement that enhance human well-being and mental health through non-medical approaches.

Ultimately, H&H aims to enrich the lives of those we love - horses and humans.  Its aim is to provide programs across Australia supporting the transformation of individuals' lives. Through non-medical methods, this will happen by creating purpose and involvement in improving human well-being and mental health.

Deakin University Pathway Program

As leaders in the financial advisory and investment industry, we understand the importance of investment in the industry, and we embrace our part to help shape and foster its future.

Partnering with Deakin University, The Hopkins Group offers an accredited pathway program for students interested in the industry to study, work, and become accredited with The Hopkins Group. We offer real-life work experience, permanent job prospects, and work-study support to help students actualise and achieve their goal of becoming an Accredited Financial Advisor.

Our latest pathway participant, Jacob Eliopoulos, started with us in 2022 as a financial planning pathway candidate. He has now completed his study and accreditation process and will become a fully accredited advisor under The Hopkins Group in 2025.

Furthermore, Our Managing Director and authorised Representative, Michael Williams, also sits on the board committee for Deak University's Financial Planning curriculum.

Beyond Blue

Our Founder, John Hopkins, is also a strong advocate for mental health and a presenter for Beyond Blue.

With intimate experience dealing with anxiety, he understood the importance of advocacy in mental health, regularly running workshops for both internal and external stakeholders to help raise awareness and provide them with the tools to increase resilience and identify those who might need help.

To date, John, along with The Hopkins Group's social club, has organised and held numerous events and fundraisers to increase awareness and raise funds for Beyond Blue and other charitable organisations aimed at combating mental health issues. Some notable events include Beyond Blue Workshops, R U OK Day, Bike for Juice, and The Biggest Morning Tea.
